Hello, I’m Noridan Bin May, a Travel Enthusiast

Welcome to my corner of the internet! I’m someone who has always dreamed of exploring the world but only recently took the leap to turn those dreams into reality. My journey to Dubai and my visit to the cultural park commonly called Global Village weren’t just a trip, it was a transformative experience that opened my eyes to the beauty of cultural diversity and the joy of stepping outside my comfort zone.

For most of my life, I lived within familiar boundaries, working, studying, and going through the daily routines that define so many of our lives. Travel seemed like something other people did, those with endless resources or adventurous spirits that I wasn’t sure I possessed. But deep down, there was always a curiosity, a wondering about what existed beyond the borders of my everyday world.

The decision to visit Dubai came after months of contemplation and encouragement from friends who had traveled there. I saved diligently, researched extensively, and finally booked that flight. The nervousness I felt was matched only by my excitement. As a beginner traveler, everything was new for me, from navigating airports to understanding different currencies, from trying unfamiliar foods to communicating across language barriers.

What I discovered was that travel isn’t about being fearless; it’s about acknowledging your fears and choosing to explore anyway. Every moment of uncertainty taught me something valuable. Every interaction with locals and fellow travelers expanded my perspective. Every new sight, sound, and taste reminded me of how vast and wonderful our world truly is.

My Journey So Far

From daydreaming to reality – the milestones that shaped my travel story

The Dream Phase

Years Before

Like many people, I spent years watching travel documentaries, browsing photos online, and imagining what it would be like to visit distant places. Dubai, with its futuristic architecture and rich cultural heritage, captured my imagination particularly strongly. I collected information, followed travel blogs, and slowly built the knowledge and courage to plan my own adventure.

Planning and Preparation

Six Months Before

The planning phase was both exciting and overwhelming. I learned about visa requirements, researched accommodations, studied local customs and etiquette, and created detailed itineraries. I joined online travel forums, asked countless questions, and slowly transformed from a nervous beginner into a reasonably prepared traveler. Saving money became a priority, and every decision brought me closer to making the dream real.

The First Flight

Day One

Boarding that plane was one of the most significant moments of my life. The mix of nervousness and excitement was indescribable. As the aircraft lifted off and I watched my familiar world shrink below, I felt a profound sense of accomplishment. I was doing it, really doing it. The hours in flight gave me time to reflect on how far I had come, not just in distance but in personal growth.

Dubai and Global Village

The Experience

Landing in Dubai was surreal. Everything exceeded my expectations, the modern infrastructure, the cultural richness, and especially Global Village. Spending an evening immersed in cultural pavilions from around the world, trying international cuisines, experiencing carnival rides, and watching spectacular shows was magical. It wasn’t just entertainment; it was education, inspiration, and a celebration of our diverse world.

The Return and Reflection

Coming Home

Returning home, I carried more than souvenirs in my luggage. I brought back confidence, perspectives, memories, and an insatiable desire to continue exploring. The person who boarded that return flight was different from the one who had nervously left weeks earlier. I had proven to myself that the world is accessible, that cultural barriers can be bridged, and that stepping into the unknown can be the most rewarding decision we make.

What I Value in Travel

Cultural Immersion

Experiencing authentic local cultures, traditions, and ways of life. Understanding that diversity enriches our world and that every culture has valuable lessons to share.

Human Connection

Meeting people from different backgrounds, sharing stories, and discovering our common humanity despite geographical and cultural differences.

Personal Growth

Pushing boundaries, overcoming fears, and returning home with expanded perspectives, increased confidence, and valuable life lessons.

Why I Share My Experiences

I created this blog because I remember how overwhelming it felt to plan my first international trip. The internet is full of travel content, but much of it comes from experienced globetrotters with years of practice. I wanted to offer a different perspective, that of a beginner who understands the nervousness, the uncertainties, and the questions that arise when you’re new to travel.

My goal is to inspire others who might be hesitating, to show that travel is achievable regardless of your experience level. I share practical details, how I booked tickets, navigated transportation, managed budgets, and overcame challenges, because these are the things I wish someone had explained to me in simple, relatable terms.

Beyond the practical aspects, I want to convey the emotional journey of travel: the excitement, the growth, the moments of wonder, and yes, even the occasional stress. Travel isn’t always perfect, but it’s always worthwhile. If my experiences can encourage even one person to book that flight, visit that destination, or step outside their comfort zone, then sharing my story has been meaningful.

This blog is also a way for me to preserve memories, to document my learning, and to connect with fellow travelers, both beginners and experienced explorers. I believe that sharing knowledge and experiences creates a supportive community where we can all learn from each other and celebrate the diversity of our world.

Looking Forward

My journey has just begun. Dubai and Global Village were the first chapters in what I hope will be a long story of exploration and discovery. There are so many destinations on my list, so many cultures to experience, and so many lessons waiting to be learned.

I’m excited to continue sharing my adventures, to document new experiences, and to grow alongside this community of travelers. Whether you’re planning your first trip or your fiftieth, I hope you’ll find inspiration, information, and encouragement here.
